Electronic Guidelines for Initial Pleadings
Email Format
Use this format for the subject line: “Please File: File Number (if available), Juvenile’s Last Name, Name of Document.” For multiple documents, indicate the number of attachments.
Example: “Please File: 123456, Jones, Petition for Legitimation, 3 documents” OR “Please File: No File Number, Jones, Petition for Legitimation, 3 documents”
Required Information
Ensure your filing includes:
- File number (if available)
- Child’s initials/name
- Child’s date of birth
- Title of the document
- Your signature
- Space for file-stamp in the top right corner
Submission
Send your filing as a legible PDF attachment to [email protected]. Word documents are not accepted.
Review and Contact
Your filing will be processed unless something is missing or there’s a discrepancy. You’ll be contacted if needed.
Response and Timing
You’ll receive a file-stamped copy within 24 business hours via “Reply All.” For submissions after 4:30 p.m., processing will occur on the next business day.
Remember
If you submit a filing and realize you need to submit a revised version of the filing, the entire document should be resubmitted. Additional documents or revised documents submitted will not be added to previously filed submissions.
Each document should be a separate pdf.

Multiple Documents
Subject line: “Please File: File Number, Last Name, Number of documents attached”
Example: Please File: 123456, Jones, 3 Documents

- Child’s initials/name

- Single delinquency cases should have one case number per document.
- Dependency cases can include multiple case numbers.
- Each document should be a separate PDF.
- Proposed orders require a preceding request document.
