On Friday, June 7, 2024, Fulton County Juvenile Court Chief Judge, the Honorable Renata D. Turner was awarded the Willie Lovett Award for Advancing the Field of Juvenile Law. Sponsored by the Child Protection and Advocacy Section of the State Bar of Georgia and the Committee on Justice for Children of the Supreme Court of Georgia, the award is presented to a lawyer or judge who is a member of the Child Protection and Advocacy Section and devotes his or her practice to advancing the field of juvenile law. The award was established in 2017 and is named in memory of Juvenile Court Judge Willie Lovett of the Atlanta Judicial Circuit.
